words farmed<br><br>Long ago in a room<br>In Swansea, damp<br>With a coffined silence.<br><br>I read to people<br>I will never reach.<br>We are all in shadows.<br><br>A poem is not a step<br>In one’s ambition;<br>The drama of it<br><br>Is not an act<br>To get somewhere.<br>‘I am a singer merely,<br><br>I sing my song’.<br>Something there is<br>In me<br><br>That loves a wall,<br>The separation<br>From others.<br><br>‘No more heroes,<br>No more dreams,<br>Life’s what it is,<br><br>Not what it seems’<br>I wrote long ago<br>When the stars fell down.<br><br><br>And how their child lost,<br>Robert’s and Eleanor’s,<br>Shines in my mind.<br><br>Their folding<br>Of the clothes<br>No longer needed;<br><br>The falling emptiness;<br>The ‘Why?’ crying<br>Through the heart’s universe,<br><br>The scream of the blood<br>That the staring eyes shed.<br>Grief, a visitor,<br><br>In the rooms of the head.<br>Something there is <br>In me <br><br>That loves a wall,<br>The separation.<br>My words,<br><br>Their words, fall<br>Like apples<br>When there <br><br>Is no-one around,<br>And the air, natural as God,<br>Consumes the song.<br></h5> <b>廢棄的教堂<br>THE DISUSED CHURCH </b><br><br>吉普賽大黃聚在門外,<br>野花誘惑著一只迷途的蝶。<br>我想象那屋內(nèi)的景象——<br>過道被雜草占據(jù),<br>荊棘纏繞祭壇,<br>濃烈的綠意,<br>圍攻著一排排莊嚴的座椅,<br>幾株樹急切地生長。<br>而在某個早已遠去的年代,<br>父親們穿著僵硬的深色西裝,<br>母親輕聲交談,<br>孩子在主日的陽光下微笑——<br>在他們步入那一刻之前,<br>步入被擦亮的寂靜禱告,<br>在歌聲與鐘鳴中,<br>思緒被沖洗,<br>如柔水打磨石的心。<br>如今,只剩下外殼,<br>抵御著風雨四軍的侵襲,<br>任自然的自由靈魂入駐。<br>馬路對面,廣告牌上夸耀著<br>一次通往“天堂”的旅程——<br>廉價的馬略卡假期。<br>教堂獨自荒廢,<br>而兩扇門外的酒館卻生意興隆,<br>裝潢仿佛在模仿什么,<br>樂聲刺耳,如地獄的喧囂。<br> <h5><b>THE DISUSED CHURCH</b><br><br>Gypsy rhubarb congregates<br>Outside the doors;
