We each define it by our own standards, values, and dreams.</p><p class="ql-block">Last December, I submitted my retirement application. It seems that no one was more eager to retire than I was. When I shared the news, my colleagues and friends were stunned.</p><p class="ql-block">“You’re not that old!” they said. “You have so much potential—you could rise even higher, maybe become a more senior official.”</p><p class="ql-block">But this decision wasn’t impulsive. I had thought about it deeply, for a long time. And the truth is: I did it in pursuit of a better life.</p><p class="ql-block">Everyday, We all work hard in pursuit of something greater. For some, this may manifest as a promotion or recognition. For others, it signifies the healing of a broken heart or the search for a more suitable companion.</p><p class="ql-block">My goal is simpler—maybe even a little blunt: I want to make money.</p><p class="ql-block">I want to make money. Great! I've been talking about ideals, dreams or purpose those shinning fancy words all my life. </p><p class="ql-block">Today, on this stage, I finally said it out loud. Yes, money is my secret life-long crush.</p><p class="ql-block">Yes, I know how that sounds materialistic. Or, probably, you might whisper that she is a money worshiper or gold digger. </p><p class="ql-block">But is there anyone who would like to applaud for me as a reward for getting rid of the shame of talking about money?</p><p class="ql-block">Oh, thank you! I am grateful. You are truly my genuine friends.</p><p class="ql-block">Be patient! But there’s more to it.</p><p class="ql-block">I’ve long admired the British economist John Maynard Keynes. In a market economy, earning money is a signal that you're offering something of value. And offering value means you’re contributing—through your skills, your wisdom, your creativity, or your service. </p><p class="ql-block">It’s not about status or titles or power.
